My name is Bruce Hemminger. Thank you for taking the time to view my website. Here you will find all the information on the history of my racing career. My life has always had something to do with cars and/or racing. Since 1996, I have been a Sales Manager at Van Drunen Ford in Homewood, Illinois. I also have 14 years of performance parts sales experience working at White’s Pit Stop in Lansing, Ilinois. Fords and racing are my way of life.
My Ford racing experience started in 1996. I would attend the Fun Ford Weekend (FFW) races when it would come to bracket race at my local track. From there I wanted something a little more competitive. That is when I started to race heads up in the Street Outlaw class in FFW in my 1986 Mustang. In 1998 I won my first race that I attended in Norwalk, Ohio and became the first 8-second nitrous car in the history of FFW. As Street Outlaw grew beyond my budget I had to look for a different class. In 2001 the National Mustang Racers Association (NMRA) created a new class called Real Street. I looked over the rules and knew I had found a new home. I raced my daily driver, a 1992 Mustang, in Real Street during the 2001 season.
After only attending 2 races, I managed to take the runner up position at the first race and finish 9th in points for the year. From there I knew I had to build a better car and the task of converting the carbureted powerplant in my '86 Street Outlaw car over to factory EFI began. This is the car that I race in Real Street today, the white and blue coupe that I've come to be recognized by.
From 2001-2008 I have set ET and MPH records, obtained numerous top qualifying positions, and have a final round appearance percentage of 58% and a final round winning percentage of 64%. As the 2008 NMRA Real Street Champion, I am looking forward to defending my title. Hope to see you at the events!!!!
I have the tools and team that gets to the finals and wins.
